Adjusting trim sending unit?
My starboard trim gauge is way off from my port one. Any body have any recommendations on adjusting them. Looks like lower unit has to be pulled to get to the lock down screws on the sending unit? If so, Do you have to keep R & R the lower unit to adjust the sender just right. They are bravo drives. Thanks in advance for any help.

I dont think you have to pull the outdrive to adjust it. There should be two screws on the sending unit. Loosen the screws and turn it slightly. I switched mine to a mechanical indicator. They seem to be less problematic.

Dave,
Where did you get your mechanical indicators and what is involved in installing them? Thanks, Jeff |
I got all the parts from the Gaffrig catalog. You need the actuator kit, a thru hull fitting, cable, and dash panel. Go to http://www.livorsi.com

Thanks alot Dave

Not sure about the Bravo setup, but on my Alpha I have to turn the drive to the left to access the forward screw.
I then turned it back to straight, leveled the cavitation plate with the keel and set the gage to center, locked down the sender and called it done. Not too hard. |
Thanks Iggy

You can remove it and check the internal parts. Sometimes the teeth the fit into the drive get worn and slip a bit for an inaccurate and inconsistent reading...
