Mike I think it depends on what day you talk to these guys as to what they use ,I know merc uses a specific torco in number 6's but I've been told that series is not good for Bravo type drive as the number 6 is so different due to the shifting happening inside the bravo and the clutchs ect. in the bravo ,and of course this is not the case with the # 6's
I go with treadwell above as they certainly have racing experance to show how good the REDLINE is .

I don't think the Torco part number for the #6's is a syn. oil but I'm not sure

Like Treadwell above Redline has proven it self to me and merc is good as is any true syn is better than a conv. :

Iuse plain ass factory Merc lube never had a problem. I just switched to redline heavy and I don't feel a damn thing different. Everyone said i would it shift into gear easy NOPE! If Merc thought red line would help a drive in it's drive it would use it

YEP if they got a deal to private label it merc would use it ,I guess all the guys in this pole using redline are wrong and we should not belive anything is better than merc ,,NOT
If I were you I would switch back to merc and give up that protection from shock proof,, but then you would be happy thats what counts

I just ordered a case of Redline from Teague last week, and they told me they were not going to be selling it anymore. They said they are switching to Amsoil. I will have to find another place to buy it.

I have used redline in my last 2 boats with great results. The Top Gun actually ran 1 mph faster when I switched out the Merc oil the boat came with from the factory to the redline. It was not a scientific test, but it did gain 1 mph and it runs a very consistent speed without much variation. Maybe the oil was the reason, maybe not?

Im using the Redline-SP/Heavy instead of the Merc stuff.

It is a bit more messy than the Merc stuff too.

I SWITCHED TO REDLINE AFTER REPLACING THE BENT OUTPUT SHAFT FROM HITTING GROUND. I BOUGHT THE PARTS FROM TEAGE AND THEY RECOMENDED REDLINE. I NOW NOTICE THAT AFTER RUNNING AT WOT FOR A FEW MINUTES IT SEAMS TO FOAM IN THE RESORVOIR . I DONT REALLY THINK ITS THE OIL SWITCH BUT I AM WORRIED ABOUT IT . ANYONE KNOW WHAT MIGHT WRONG?
