Default Anyone familiar with Merc 454/340hp?

I just picked up 2 340hp/454's...with a Mer Cooling enclosed water system. Got them at a decent price...came with BW trannies too.
Anyone familiar with these engines?

Basically, they're pretty much built like a Merc 330hp 454 only the 340hp version were fitted for inboard or V-drive type applications---like a cruiser type of boat. They made about 10hp more because there isn't as many 90* angles in the V-drive system set-up as compared to a sterndrive/outdrive system such as like a Bravo One.

Is one engine reverse rotation? They are standard for IB power with the velvet drives.
I need a couple velvet drives with around 2.5:1 reduction, if you want to get rid of the trannys.

Oh yeah, Kaama has it right. It's the same as the 7.4 or 330 motor. Peanut port heads, cast crank, etc.
