I believe they are reffering to the capacity plate. Smaller boats are the only ones with the plate. Next question! :D

Cap Rating
In Kansas they ask you that question to be sure that the engine horse power rating has not been exceeded. It only applies to outboard power. On your sterndrive powered BAJA it will most likely be left blank. On your Baja there is a capacity plate near the right side of the helm that tells you the weight capacity in pouds and/or persons. If there is a HP rating, it will be there. Boats in Kansas are registered through the Fish & Game Department, so there forms are pretty generic. I have not registered one in KS for several years. Do you boat primarily in Kansas?

Gotcha! Thanks. Yes we boat in Kansas but plan on making trips to OK, MO, and NE.

Cowgirl, don't drive all the way Gordo's to look at the capacity plate. It doesn't have one. Nothing that says a max HP or max # of passengers.

Okay, thanks Scott.

Plate
Hey Griff may be right. But my last two Baja's had cap plates with manufacturers date, coast guard cert etc on it. But the overall amswer is ... it does not apply to your boat.
