I got a question!

What is Cap HP Rating?
I am filling out the application for my numbers for the state of Kansas. I have no clue what this is asking. Please help.

Try going to the state's website for registering a boat. Most likely they have adobe forms to down load, and detailed instructions.

Nice hat in the gel coat thread btw.

Thanks, that is the form I am looking at and it is asking me this question. If the boat was here in Topeka, at my house, right now, I would go over it with a fine toothed comb and try to find it. I have the owner's manual but and I have read it front to back and nothing. This stuff is hard! HA!

Oh and thanks, I'm glad you like my hear wear...I LOVE goofy hats...Big Orange Foam Cowboy Hat...remember!

Horse power and how many motors? not a 100% but pretty sure.

Outlawcowgirl 03-04-2003 07:49 PM

They ask what the horsepower is in the question before this one. Why does this have to be so hard?

LapseofReason 03-04-2003 07:55 PM

Mine is documented threw the USCG and the dealer did all the paper work. I figured I would take a stab at it for you. I don't have any idea if HP isn't horse power.

What they want is the amount of horsepower the boat is rated for. Doesnt really apply to stern drive boats, its more for outboard powered craft. Like on bass boats there is a plaque near the helm that states the max hp motor you can put on the boat.

The cap hp rating is on the manufacturers certification sticker for smaller hulls. I believe that it only applies to hulls less than 21 feet. Check the USCG site for details. It specifies the capacity of the boat in pounds and the maximum hp that the hull can be powered with. Hope that this helps.
