Supercharger Shootout
#42
Ok here's an interesting thought while were all picking the one particular exact engine to test I have a great idea why don't we actually pick some engines that are produced today? This will be a great even playing field. Maybe a new Mercury 525 or a 496Mag, etc.. OOP's There's a problem you see only one company builds superchargers for any of these applications "WHIPPLE". So while some brand may have a great working unit on a one only application. Why doesn't anyone scream at some of these other manufacture's to quit pushing there old product and invest in new applications like Whipple has. This would be a pretty easy way to do a comparison. Well for anyone with a new boat the clear cut winner is Whipple as they have made the efforts to supply our market. Let's do a shoot out on a new 2007 496Mag, or a 525 merc, or a 350 mag, Guess who the only supercharger manufacture is that can show up?. Vortech doesn't build current systems, ProCharger doesn't build current systems, Holley doesn't build current systems. So while I know "PEAK" power is everyone's goal you may want to be thankful the folks at Whipple are investing there money into new applications so all can enjoy more powerful boating.
