Circulating pump question

Picked up a new pump and was wondering what, if anything, I should use on the gaskets.
If I was installing it on a car I would use Permatex #2.
Since this is first I've done on a marine engine I don't know if thats really needed.

What do you guys use or think?

#2 will work fine. New gaskets.

Sounds good to me.

After you install it with Permatex #2 (also coat the bolts) run a continuity test between the water pump and the battery ground to make sure the pump is grounded otherwise it will corrode very fast. If there is no continuity, you should make a ground strap from 16 gauge wire, (stainless wire is the best).

Thanks guys.
Permatex #2 it is.

Dennis, I never thought about checking for continuity. Thanks.
