Oil cooler
There are variable's, but a 3" x 12" in line cooler should easily handle 600-700 HP @6000 rpm. I use a separate small cooler for the PS. Are your water lines adequate?

While your checking things, make sure you are inputing your water from one end and the oil enters from the other end, so they flow in opposite directions.

I use the big Eddie's on my Cig Blower motors. One has the PS built in, the other does not. My temp never goes over 215 on either motor.

I 'm useing an Imco cooler with the built in 190* thermastat and the merc PS cooler seperate. About 575hp BBC
I actualy have a problem getting to run over 200* oil temp in the pan. Sounds like you have issues. Pull the cooler and soak it in paint thinner overnite. Then flush it and blow it out real good. Is it a new cooler? if so may have a blockage.
