Hyper, you should try to do what I did accidentlly, I go by a small Boat dealership(RINKER) and marine repair, and got to be freinds with the owner and people there, its a very small place. By helping with boat shows and stuff like that, now I get parts at cost and there is about 100 percent or more mark up in Mercruiser and Mercury Racing, this saved me a lot of money, for instance, my plug wires cost me 35.00 instead of 68.00

Check out the NAPA Marine Catalaog MSP-7. Their prices were 1/3 merc with trade discount

I second what doug hess said. Go to NAPA. They can get them and usually cheaper.

If you do go with automotive wires don't forget to coat the brass ends with dielectric grease to keep water and corrosion out. Even if you do use Merc wires, grease'em up for the same reason.

The best price I found for a complete Alpha water pump kit was at T.C. Electronics/Marine their price is $39.95. Last I looked everyone else was asking 60.00+ for the same kit.

Sorry, link won't work.
go to "sterndrive dot info/sterndriveparts/index.html"

I guess anything with a ."info" address suffex is still banned.

Take one with you to match up, and don't let them sell you Tylor pro wires they suck. Just swap the back 6 with the one's on your dad's Vette they should be the same.

I talked to Tyler Crocket about my plug wires 2 weeks ago when he dynoed my motor I had plug wires on it with the solid stainless steel wire in them. He said I should change them to the stock type wire because with the EFI computer they have seen them interfear with the ECM just like they would with a car radio if you ran them on a car.

Well I havn't used them in about 14 year's but when I put them on my street car it had all the MSD good stuff on it. I went on a date later that night and almost didn't make it home they really just fell apart, the coil wire just burnt in half and so did some of the plug wire's I had to keep taking a plug wire and using it as a coil wire to get home I took the girl out in a 600hp street rod and came back in a 5 cylinder trash wagon. NOT a good date. When this thread came up I didn't think about how long it has been since I used them, now I feel old thank's a lot. Now I get 9mm hp wire from my part's suplier and make them my self that way I can only blame myself. I guess they might make good stuff now, but it's like when you hit your thumb with a hammer, you don't need to do it twice to know it hurt. Plus they cost me a piece of ass.

Well sorry about that ! Nothing should cost that much!!!

The Taylors we just started using a year or so ago as they gave us some to try and we're hooked . Damn their hard to put togather but if its done right they will really last are are burn proof ,,,which isn't a problem on boats as it is on cars or really dyno's
25 years ago I loved MSD wire but I feel its gone down hill , oh well to each his own :D :D :D
