Question Houstonprop

I have a question for you. I have an AT 37 AVH with 500 EFI's. I currently have a set of stock 32 Bravo's on the boat. It also has XR drives with 1.50 ratio.

I am currently getting the following performance out of the boat:

3200 rpm - 50 mph
3500 rpm - 60 mph
4000 rpm - 70 mph
4500 rpm - 79 mph

That is it. 79 mph at 4500 rpm. I really like the midrange on the boat but cannot run wot at 4500 rpm. I would like to run the engines in the 5000 rpm range.

The boat could also use more bow lift. If I understand it correctly, Bravos provide stern lift. This AT does not need that.

I have been thinking about the 5 blade Maximus from Mercury.

I am not opposed to having two sets of props. One for top speed (Poker Runs) and one for cruising (90% of boat usage).

I would really appreciate your comments / thoughts.

I think you're going need a set of labbed 30's. You need 600 rpms. You should get 400 form the pitch drop and 200 from the labbing.
Darin's doing my prop now and it should be arriving SOON(hint, hint). I asked him to add some bow lift along with the lab job also.

Bravos provide some stern lift, but not nearly as much as some other 4-blades, such as Hydromotive. I think you have the right prop, just the wrong pitch. If you drop to 30", you'll probably get more speed and you'll be really pleased with the acceleration.

RIC 232 IS RIGHT AGAIN I AM SURE YOU NEED LABBED 30'S to to the trick also we can thin the trailing edge to reduce the stern lift/the thick trailing edge is what creates this also we could (CLIP ) THE DIA"5/8ths and thin /thin/ which will get the 600 rpm but not sure of the overall results should increase mid range more and hopefully pickup the speed /the higher the pitch and the smaller the blade will always run faster if it's dialed in right.it wont hurt anything as you are only turning4,500 now /it will be better no dought.thanks again H2 o also I just don't know much about the five bld maxmius how it would do? probally slower as you have another blade to spin?

Still snowing???? It did today for about 15 mins and its gone already. We have had 5 days in the 80's in the last few weeks also though.
Next week is fine. Not even sure I'll have the boat wet before Easter. Thanks.
