Houston Propeller RULES!!!!!!!!!

Sent my prop to Darin over the winter like so many others here did. Had the boat out last weekend at LOTO. The best way to describe it is, " It runs like a raped ape" Unbelievable amount of performance gain, better hole shot. better top end. Darin, you RULE man!!!!!!!!! Thanks again, 88

88 MACH 1, how much did you gain on the top end? Did you get it labbed or cupped or what. I was thinking of getting mine tweeked.

88 MACH 1 04-20-2003 02:42 PM

Balanced, labbed, cupped, and polished. Top end has to be at least 10 mph. Went from a 4 blade 22p to a 3 blade 23p mirage withall the work done. Talk to Darin, give him as much info as you can about your boat and he'll set you up. Later, 88

Everyone knows Darin does great work, but you cant really compare 2 completly different props like that.

88 MACH 1 04-20-2003 05:57 PM

Not trying to campare, I was running the wrong prop for my boat. After talking to Darin, his suggestions and work on the 3 blade made all the difference. No one else could give me the info I needed on the right prop for my boat. Darin set me up.

28Eliminator 04-20-2003 10:09 PM

Sounds like you got the right prop now!

88 MACH 1 04-23-2003 07:38 PM

Yes, I do, now looking forward to LOTO Memorial Day Weekend

As one of the "winners" of the Polished vs. Satin finished comparison contest that Darin/Houston Propeller had on the board, I can't wait to get to the river to test this thing out. :D :D I just got my prop back from Darin last week and it sure looks good with that satin finish!! I will post the results as soon as the weather makes up it's mind to get warm.:)

PS - If my boat picks up 10 mph, I will run thru the streets of DC naked with a flag that says "I love Houston Propeller Services":D :D :D :D

Darin is a straigh up great guy, a man of his word.
I got better topend, same great holeshot, and my mid range was much imporved.
I was still working with him on lowering my RPM, still up at 4950, need them to be around 4800, when winter hit.
Hope to continue improvements this summer.

88 MACH 1 04-26-2003 10:32 AM

Whatever happened to polished VS satin? Which is better?

FFO 04-26-2003 11:00 AM

Yes graig232 let us know how your prop works ? 9.9 MPH that way you won't end-up IN "JAIL" !!!!! good luck. FFO

THIS IS IT,MORE TOP SPEED,MIDRANGE ACCLERATION IS STRONG,WITH EXCELLENT BOW LIFT FOR REDUCED DRAG AND A QUICK HOLESHOT.

EXPERIMENTING ON

That's how we came up with the ACCLERATOR,BY TRIAL AND ERROR AND TESTING.

SEND YOUR BRAVO-ONE in and we and twist and tweak it around ,I,am sure we can get the bow to lift better than it is.

HOUSTONPROP 12-13-2003 06:17 AM

changing pitch/and rake

Sutphen 30, we can change the pitch 2" up or down as well we can increase or decrease blade rake angle.

which will result in more or less bow lift depending on what we want,in your case more by adding rake and cup and would also have to redece the dia"/this will make it lift and pull hard rpms through midrange accleration for great top end speeds and bow lift resulting in reduced dragand a mush faster boat.

Darin,

Just spoke with Kim to say that I received the props and they are in perfect condition. They are now residing in on the top shelf of our master bedroom closet where no harm will come to them! It is too bad I will not be able to run 'em for another four months...maybe I should move to Houston!! The finished product is a thing of beauty, thanks again. I will give you a report in the spring when we are back in action. You and Kim have a great holiday and a happy and healthy new year.

Regards,

Gary and Ellen

Houstonprop, I am thinking about either working my prop or getting a 26 B1.

I have a 2000 Sunsation 288 with a 502. I added headers and started banging the rev limiter pretty hard. I currently spin a stock 24 B1. I was thinking about going with a 26 and perhaps labbing it if I can't quite spin it with my set up. What do you think? Best GPS speed this summer was 69.4.. I was hoping to get it to 71~72 with the prop change/update.

HOUSTONPROP 12-15-2003 02:45 PM

KEEP WHAT YOU HAVE

We could re-work your 24 to run fast ,out of the hole have a stong midrange and bump the top speed up a couple mph,you could try a 26 But, I think it would have to be really thin, and we would have to maybe reduce the dia a little.

let me know if I can help or better yet send me your number p.m. and I, will give you a call.
, Darin;)

robyw1 12-15-2003 03:07 PM

Soon I will be running the Accelerator prop and I'm looking forward to trying it out for the first time. Those increased speeds should make my speedometer leak on my foot even more.
