Yeah, no vacuum modulator.
The vacuum signal DOES go to the computer, though, which determines when and how to shift. For that reason erratic or abnormal vacuum signal can still cause shifting issues.
A scanner that can monitor the shift signal will let you know which end of the chain to concentrate on (computer end or transmission end).
