Valve lash?

Need some help figuring out what valve lash to use on my engines. I have CBB talldeck, Crane 139651, Hydraulic roller lifters, Crane gold rockers. Have tried Crane homepage but I found 2 answers, 1/2-1 preload and on the camcard zero (0) lash with engine hot. As it is the first time with rollers and this cam I wonder whats the correct way to do it?

I think I would go 3/4 turn to be safe and you should be in good shape

lashing out ...

I agree with Bobby D., once you find zero lash go 3/4 and lock down the poly lock, then torque the nut to 26-28 ft.lbs.

If you need any other help feel free to call the shop.

Having been through hell and back troubleshooting a recent rebuild problem. Many of the builders, shops and manufacturers have been recommending 1-1/2 turns. Is this too much? I've been informed that this is what a few Nascar teams are doing.

nope nascar uses solid flat tappets hyd rollers would never live in that enviroment (9500+ rpm's),,Also I really have found 1and a half is to tight ,but would work

Hows your new motor 650 ???

Engine is perfect, thanks for asking, maybe I'll back them off at my next oil change. I'll try the 3/4" turn.

Thanks,

Kirk
