Question Weber Crabs Again

Well I was just about ready to toss this thing in the trash! But 1st I must say I've only owned the boat for a year and the things been a pain to start after she sits for over a week or two. Took it to a buddy to have it tuned and he noted that the choke was hanging open about a 1/4 inch. Made the adjustment and BINGO!!! She'll start every time. May be something the rest of you guys may want to check out. A couple pumps and 3 turns of the key and it's running! Very nice!!!

I used to have one of those and I tried adjusting the choke the same way. The only problem is that it took mine forever to heat up enough to pull the choke completely open. It started but, it idled rough and blew black smoke for about 5 minutes. I had the mechanical bi-metal spring that sat on top of the intake manifold on the port side. I ended up just putting the adjustment back to stock and learned to live with the hard starting. Glad to hear it works for you. Good luck.

Sounds like maybe I got lucky??? Oh well I'll take it. Sure beats heating up that starter.

By the way if anyones looking I bought an electric fuel pump I was going to install to correct the propblem. It's a Mercruiser pump, will take $75.00 including shipping.
