I'm with Mr. 1500. The little bit of additional volume under the carb is of little concern. I am running rect port heads when oval would be most affective. That is a much greater problem than the spreadbore vs square bore manifold issue. My engines run great. If your carb gaskets are leaking due to an ill fit, the engine will run lean, not rich.
I am about to install the holley carbs on 502 merc intakes and would be really appreciative to know the part number for the proper edelbrock adapter. I am assuming this is different than the linkage plate kit required for the conversion.

I'm still going with the new intakes....I'm getting mixed reviews on the adaptors. Some guys swear by them and some guys swear at them. Guess I'm just getting tired of problems and would rather know that everything is right on the money dead nuts instead of wishing I had spent the extra money earlier etc etc. I want this mixture problem straightened out once and for all before I cause some severe damage......
