500hp carbed oil filter?

What type of oil filter are you guys running on your 500HP motors? Should I stick with the Quicksilver brand or is there an automotive type that crosses over to fit?

Purolator Pure One
They have a synthetic element, match the merc blue engines and can be found just about anywhere:D

FRAM HP4

I run a Fram HP8 which is just the shorter version (4 1/4 inch?) of the HP4 just because of space issues. Heard bad things about Frams standard filters, but there "Racing" filters are supposedly much better.

Do yourself a favor and use a filter with a synthetic element. The cardboard crap that the old style filters use will not work if it gets any moisture in it. I would hope this would never happen but why not have the protection for the same or less money on a higher tech filter. Can you tell I don't like Fram?:D

Are the Fram Racing Filters Paper or synthetic inside? Never had one apart to look. I know you don't want to run a paper element because of the "water" factor.

they are changing to syn. but most are chitty paper and hate to pass water ,,the AC/PF35 L is the best around but hard to find
the purolator is killer

I don't know I just hate orange:D  My best guess would be no they just have more cardboard. There is a old oil filter study floating around on the internet somewhere and it slammed Fram and a few others for making sub standard filters. I would buy the Mobil One Filter and I think Wix may be another good choice but not sure. I like the Pure One Filter because it fits (not too long and I can buy them at one of my accounts when I am at their retail store that is like a Wal-Mart. I am NOT a expert I just have a opinion I am sharing.
