Hull Damage Repair Help?

just took a nice chunk out of the back corner of my new boat, (damn public ramps!),)this is a new problem for me, never did this before.. any suggestion on what to use,marine tex ?? etc..(brands too) temp. or perm... or should i just let the pro's fix it!

you could go with gel cote paste to fill th hole. YOu can buy a can of it at west marine for make sur eyou get eth pastes. And get ready to wetsand!!! |
you need glass and resin to pack in that hole. then you can put gelcoat on top and color match it.
but you need fiber in that hole. |

West marine sales some stuff called the wet system, it is basically a very slow curing fiberglass resin. Because it dries slow it is very strong and you can buy a filler to add to it to make it thicker for large holes like the one you have. Then I would contact the boat manufacturer for the right color gelcoat there are several that look white but are actually called something different. Hope this helps and sorry for your mishap, that sucks. :eek:

With it being a new boat, I'd have it professionally done, but that may be because I've seen my own fiberglass work before.:(
