a buddy of mine just called me with the problem of his oil level rising in with one of the twin 4.3 V-6 engines in his searay. I would assume its fuel pump related.....but any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.....anybody's thought's please!!!!

An engine will not make oil. Something is getting in the oil, either water or gas. Water is bad, gas is dangerous! Tell him to sniff the oil off the dipstick. If it smells like gas, don't start it up.

If it is water, the oil will be white, or milky. If not water then either gas in getting in oil by carbs (jetting, bad floats, or ???) or if mech. fuel pump it has gone bad. Change oil now, unless you want to rebuild the engine.

The gas in the oil will wash out the bearings. The most common source of gas is from the mechanical fuel pump, although I've seen it happen from flooding. The question is why the coast guard required hose isn't directing the fuel from the pump into the carb.
