Isn't there a spring loaded idler arm? You retract the arm and it takes the tension off the belt. Most have a 3/8" square so a breaker bar can be used.

Default alternator install

I wish that were the case. It does not have an adjustable arm bracket anywhere. It was simple to take off but I'm trying to figure out how to tighten it when it goes back on.

Isn't there a tensioner on the seawater pump idler pulley? I forget.
