mirage vs bravo 1 vs revolution 4
I need some prop advice. does anybody have a test comparing above props.
I have a crownline 266 ltd with 496 Ho
and mirage plus 21p prop WOT 5000 RPM
+/- 60mph GPS. I want a 4 blade prop witout losing to much on top end?

Other things to consider is the behavior of the boat. How does the bow carry...stern carry? The Mirage is a bow lifting prop...the Bravo I a bow lifting prop ...the Rev 4 is a Full Hull Lifting prop and Hydromotives are stern lifting props. With the 496 HO you should run at WOT 4900-5000RPM. The addition of the 4th Blade can indeed net a speed loss of about 1.5 knots but this is not truee 100% of the time. If you are not experienceing the benefits of a high performance prop then you may never feel the decrease in speed by adding the 4th blade. And of course Blueprinting the prop generally produces 2-4 MPH Increases in speed!

rev4 vs bravo
Thanks for replies guys
smallest pitch in Bravo 1 is 22 vs mirage plus 21, I would expect to drop from 5000 to 4800 rpm WOT I'm at a elevation of 2000ft, If I take it to the coast will I gain 200 RPM?
If I blueprint/lab finish Bravo 1 22p what will it do to max RPM. Would I need a 22 or 24p?
If the bravo has same bow lift character as mirage plus I would probably try that.
regards
Rick

Rick, I would certainly try the 21 pitch Rev4 on your boat. I have set up dozens of Crownlines and that hull "likes" the Rev 4. The Rev 4 will turn almost exactly the same RPM as your Mirage plus 21" (on that hull). Crownlines don't perform well with bravo 1 props until you get some serious HP in them.

Hi Bob
The consensus seems to be Rev 4.
If I'm maxing out on RPM with a 21p mirage plus and get a blueprinted rev 4. Taking into account that I'll be using it on the ocean too (salt water 2000 ft drop in elevation)Do I get a 21 or 23p blueprinted rev 4??

TRY THE 21 REV FOUR
I would try the 21 pitch rev four ,These props are very thick and have a large blade area, and sufficient cupping on the pitch and rake lines of the blade. I think a 23 would be too much even at the elevation change./
