Fuel Regulator Return line ?

1 Attachment(s)
Has anyone ever ran a fuel return line to the hose where you fill your tank?

I talked to the guys at Aeromotive and they said the best results for fuel return is to put the diverted fuel from the regulator back to where you fill your tank.

I used to divert the fuel through a cooler, now I have a cam driven water pump and that is not an option I want to pursue to handle diverted fuel.

My question is can I drill a hole into this hose and screw in a barbed 6 fitting and then secure the fitting with a polymer JB weld. I know the proper way would be to cut a section out of the hose and weld a tube with the fitting and reinsert that back into the line.

Any thoughts.

Look up Moroso or look at Jegs, either one has the actual in line hose fitting you are looking for.

Much eaisier and professional.

This is the kit you were mentioning, my only question is the picture or fuel filler hose the same diameter? I know nothing about the marine standards on where to find out info on the hose numbers.

The moroso kit is 2" diameter, but you are right it is exactly what I was going to have to build.

Thanks.

You can also plumb the fuel return line into the vent hose fitting on the tank.

Here is a question where do you guys run your fuel return line?

I like the idea of the vent Hose dennis.

I am going to see if I have any more pics that could show the situation a little better.

I run mine to a separate fitting in the tank.

very few tanks have the ablity to return to the tank unless asked for from the manufactuer the best solotiuon is to tee the fill hose i belive cp performance has the part you are looking for

Dennis,

My fuel vent is kind of tucked away and not easy accessible so I opted for the kit.

I decided to go with Pantera's suggestion it was less than $40 and the kit directs the fuel 90 degress directly into the tank.

Just bought the Moroso kit from Summit should be here in a couple of days. I also could not resist their stainless braided oil dipstick with billet knob.

I will take some pics and post the results.

Thanks

Luckily my boat is mostly apart from the helm to the engine so running this line will be no problem I hope.

Thanks for your input.
