Question Can this be done for Merc exhaust?

Has anyone ever tried this with stock Merc manifolds and risers? I have considered this on my boat. This might also be an opportunity to install an adjustable check valve to limit the amount of water that is introduced into the exhaust stream to decrease backpressure. Has anyone tried this, and what kind of results did you get?
