well here we go again.....I was going to winterize this past weekend and while changing the oil noticed that bad thing!!!!Milk.....I had an issue last summer also, tore the top end appart couldn't find a smoking gun the head gaskets were good manifold and risers were good the only issue as a couple of the intake bolts had started to carode. So I replaced all the gaskets and the blots sealed the crap out of the bolts and hadent had any problems until now...any ideas???what a pain in the arss!!

Why don't you borrow Waterfouls exhaust manifolds for a test?

Sorry to hear of the troubles Dyno. Are you using silicone in place of the end gaskets on the intake? If heads have been cut a couple times you need the compression of the silicon to get a good clamp force on the intake gasket/bolts. From my bad experience, repeated milkshakes are usually derived from somewhere in the exhaust though. Inspect carefully.

wow sorry to hear about your problem, something to check might be your water pressure, if it is to high at high RPM's it will push water past your gaskets, also have your heads been milled are surfaced a lot? maybe angle milled with out cutting the intake? what blocks do you have do they have the blind bolt holes for the heads?might need more sealer on the head bolts if they do not have the blind holes, good luck on this, hope this might help a bit

I have two different sets of Merlin heads one that I bought new the other used dont know how much if any resurfacing has been done. The exhaust is Emi and new a couple years ago. I have silent choice (merc) The boat did have a different pitch the last time I was out, I checked the diverters they looked OK could the flappers in the Y pipe cause this????

Are you saying both engines have milk? If not, is it the one with the new or old heads?
