Dyno I'm going to do my own. I have seen it done before and it looks easy. Just don't hit the seat. You can easily see/feel the areas that need to be fixed, just radius them so it's a smooth flow. Only the rough edges from where the bore ends and the casting begins. I wouldn't mess with anything else unless you really know what your doing. Porting is a science, it has more to do with velocity than just opening up the port.

WS6

My tach shows 5300, but I am not sure it is accurate. The reason I say this is my tach is still the stock Faria tach built for Baja. While I still had the stock 7.4 MPI motor, the tach would show slightly over 4500, and I was hitting the rev limiter. It is my understanding the rev limiter was set for 4700 or 4750 by Mercury. So either my tach is off or Mercury did not set the rev limiter at the same rpm as everyone else. Wish I could tell you what my speed is at 3500, but I would just be guessing, as I don't recall. It is cold her and we haven't been in the boat for a couple of months.

Dyno
The builder supplied the ignition. It is a Thunder Bolt and has a V6 module. There is no rev limiter now. I have given some thought to getting an MSD but I don't see it making more power. If I am wrong on this I would like to hear it. I know the rev limiter would be good insurance. Just haven't done it yet.

I don't doubt your tach either, 5300 with a 25 pitch prop and 1.5 gear in outdrive running 77 mph is about dead on the money for a V bottom boat.

I have 25 ft sunsation that turns a 25 at 5300 but I'm only going 70 give or take a mph. What gives?

Thanks Rob
