Look at These!

I am pleased to announce that Hydromotive Engineering has Developed a 6 Blade Propeller!
We have two sets of prototypes and have tested them on race boats with impressive results! These propellers work well on boats with high X dimensions. This propeller will be available for the 2004 Season. Sweet Dreams! |
bet they are a lot more money friendly than the hering's
hydromotive makes some great stuff |
I don't see no prop, just a disk!
That is awsome. |
The more fins, does that mean the more torque you will gain or do you gain pretty much everything, including accel/midrange/topend, I know on deep sea fishing boats if they run 2 props then they have more torque or something like that.
|
The only pitch we have now are 32p. You may need a little engine tuning Troutly to turn these at a respectable rpm.
To maximize the performance of the six blades the boat needs to be set-up for them, or, you want a prop to stay hooked up in rough water conditions. Racers find the six blades to be an excellent rough water prop, even on boats with low X dimensions. To get the max speed and performance, however the X dimension needs to be raised higher than it would be for a 5 blade prop. Usually about 1/2" higher. We will be testing the sets we have through the winter. If anyone has a boat that can turn a 32 or 33 pitch 5 blade and is interested in testing these props give us a call. Also new from Hydromotive this year will be the interchangeable hub (like Mercury's Flo-Torque) which will allow both the small and large prop shaft to be used with all the Hydromotive props. Welded in hubs will not be necessary any more, but recommended for high horsepower applications. |
What are your fees for trying the prop?
|
Right now we do not have a fee! I am more interested in some water time for these props. Initial testing has left me :D :D :D
I more interested further development of the prop! Feel Free to call me. Julie Throttle Up Propellers 877-842-6855 |
I'm currently in the off season. I'm pretty sure the combo would produce some interesting results. 26' center sponson cat. The prop shaft is centered on the bottom. Stellings adjustable extension box, imco shortened lower. 580hp/620lbft 540cuin. The boat runs 85mph with a stock 30" bravo 1 @ 5200, 90mph with a 32" bravo1 @ 5200, 85mph with a 34" lab bravo1 @ 5500rpm (limited). Obviously the boat wants to go faster, but the slip is killing it.
|
Yes, you are a qualified candidate!
|
Sucks that the season is over. Come spring we'll have to make a point of getting together.
|
In what diameter are they available? Maybe we could could have a pair splined for my #6's!
;-) Due |
Cord,
It will give us something to look forward too! Julie |
Due,
The diameter is 15 1/4. However with the #6's the bullet is smaller and the can of the prop will not sit well. I wish I had something new to offer you. What size and type of props are you running now? Julie |
Julie-
I was wishful thinking! :doggy: Currently running 17.5 x 35 (max cup) 4 blade Labs. My latest project (still unfinished) has the drives mounted high and I'm concerned about getting on plane and slip. I might have to add boxes, but was hoping to avoid doing so. Thanks Due |
This quad rotor boat needs more prop. Turning a 34 P way more than 6k with 1.32 ratio drive. has a very high X. Think it is a good candidate? We are testing MOFO's
:D :D ***VIDEO HERE*** |
Infomaniac,
Your slip is way too high! The Bravo 1 prop just isn't up to the task, in your application it's just out of it's element. I would expect a six blade, with the proper slip for your application, to turn 5800@122mph. It should also help to bring your bow down a little bit. After looking at your video I think it would help to bring the bow down just a little. It was at the point where I was thinking fly-over! With the six blade you may need a new gps speedo! Your video stated you are running a stock Bravo drive. These props have the XR hub welded in. If you are running the smaller prop shaft these won't work for you. In your application a large prop shaft would be in order with a 5 or 6 blade, the prop hooks up so much harder than a 4 blade it's too much stress on a standard shaft. We would be very interested in testing these props on your boat. Give us a call. |
Maximus...
Hey Julie,
any word yet on when the Maximus is going to become available and in what pitchs? Thanks, Dave |
NO still no word on the Maximus from Merc.
But the good news is: I have another set of Prototypes coming my way and they are exactly what we need for you! I will stay in touch! I will post a picture as soon as I receive the prop! Stay Tuned! Julie |
Thanks, can't wait!!

After I made the last post Julie reminded me about this boat, the issues it had with the stern being too light and that this was the only prop that seemed to work well on it. After running the slip numbers at 130 instead of 119 the slip is where it should be for that boat, in the single digits.
As far as whether this 6 blade would work there is only one way to find out, try it! Just let us know when you are ready and we will get it sent out to you. I am waiting for another prototype prop to arrive in the next few days that I think may be a very viable candidate for you. It is a bow lifting 5 blade, We will post information about it when it gets here. Thanks for the additional info.....keep the wet side down! |
Randy,
Thanks for posting the video! WOW!!!!!!!!! OK, Lets dial her in further..... I cannot tell you the benefit of video from my perspective! I think that there are a few things that we can do to enhance the performance of the boat! Call me when you are ready! Julie |

Randy stars in the video. Randy intends on calling soon. Thanks |
Hello Ron,
Great Video! I sent Randy and e-mail today with some new ideas and NEW Props coming out this winter! I'll keep you posted. Julie Throttle Up Propellers 877-842-6855 www.throttle-up.com |
I'd like to see the results of your new prop on Cord's boat. I've driven his boat several times, and it runs out of "go" at higher rpm when the slip kicks in. It get's to 80 right now, but after that....... needs more prop.
And he can even give you some rough water testing numbers.... Lake Michigan can be brutal, especially on a 26' Cat. :D |
The pisser is that for me to rebuild my new bh drive, I have to sell the old one. Now, doesn't that just suck?
