Give John Janaky at Pro-Pellers a call he does all of my props. He can give you the correct answers. I believe he told me you cannot really repitch a prop but by changing the formed edge cupping you can adjust the rpm. His phone 262 534 4440.

There have been many posts saying that York does a good job, I had a pair of cleavers done by Chad Hill, they came back looking very poor, even to my unexperienced eye, when I tried them the boat is hard to get on plane and slower than stock, would not recommend him.

I'm in a similar situation, but starting with 25P Quicksilver's. 272 Fromula with twin 454 330hp's. runs 64.9999 at 4400 rpm.
I WANT 65mph OR MORE :D luckily, I have RPM yet before worrying about bottom end. How about if I buy someone's mirage or mirage plusses, that gives you some $$ for new 27's, If it only cost $100 each to lab, I'll try it on my quicksilvers. otherwise looking to upgrade to mirage plus or Bravo I. Of course, I would prefer to try them first before spending the $$$. |
Advantage.. No I'm not worried about getting my props repitched to 26 and labbed, just a little uneasy about burning my bridge. I hit several logs last year with my cruiser (different boat)and had spare propage on hand. I'd hate to wipe out fragile labbed props and not have spares.
Repitching in my opinion works well. I've done it to pretty much every prop I've ever owned with the desired rpm change. I wouldn't hesitate to do that again. Rambuncious... I think you'd do very well to try a set of 23 mirages, or lab the 25 pitch props you have. BT |
After testing several boats with 4 different prop makers and 15 different types of props as well as labbed props all last spring all I can say is there are more props out there than the Marage plus and the BravoI props labbed or otherwise. On my own unit I found the Merc props not my first choice. There were 2 makers and 4 different props that were faster than either the Marage plus and the BravoI. All boat hulls are different so you have to try different on your specific boat.

Yeah, I've heard one testimonial after another that York is the best for the money. I'm sending my props in this weekend.
