Cam retarding question
I never can keep this straight. Assume cam has LSA of 110* and mfg recommends installing at 106*. That's a built in advance of 4*, right?
If you install the cam at 108*, that's retarding it 2*, right?
Ok, so if the Intake closes at 61* when installed at 106*, it will close at 63* if installed at 108*? Or does it now close at 59*
Which is right? Thanks.

If a cam has a LSA of 110* and an ICL of 106* the cam has 4* advance ground into it. That is ground into the cam and cannot be changed.
If you install the cam at 108* ICL you have have retarded it 2* leaving you a net of 2* advanced.
If your intake closes at 61*@106 ICL it will close at 63*@ 108 ICL
