Default Dyno numbers 540

I just found my dad's 'boat binder' a book he used to collect all receipts and take notes of everything he did to the boat. He even has receipts of a ssm III and rigging at lake X.

It has dyno numbers on a few motors. This 540 has 39deg timing.

Ah, the power of solid rollers.....and compression. Doubt it was blown with 39 degrees of timing.

I think that motor was natural... I'll have to ask my dad.... I know he had a 540 with an 8-71 watercooled moneyham that put out almost 1100 hp.

One of the guys involved with this motor now runs a destroked 502 that is somewhere in the 480"? range... I'm not real sure of the cubic inches. but it has a jessel valve train and a 14-71 blower... he has it boosted up to 32 lbs... the boat does 160mph.... but he gets scared and backs out of it.

IF IT MADE 1100HP IT WAS A CAM2 MOTOR .A 540 ON PUMP GAS WITH AN 871 SHOULD MAKE ABOUT 800 TO 850
