Think BB Chevy, Mark IV, carbed. I am looking at K&N filter / flame arrestor set up and am advised that I need to "flow" 660cfm. K&N sez go to the 14 x 3 filter setup. If anyone has this piece on their boat, can they tell me if there is enough clearance to the outside to use push-in valve cover breathers? I like the push-in breather vs. the hose to the flame arraestor better (more chrome . . . ) but don't know if they will work with this diameter air cleaner assembly.
And, I would look at it myself but I am 250 miles away from my boat . . . booo, hooo, hooo

Hey Sea Weasel...
Yes, the breathers should work. Here's a pic of my set-up on a 502 Mag Gen V. Here on the starboard side you can the K&N breather just behind the blue sheild for the Mercathode system and coolant hose. The filter actually sets above where the breathers install.

Rex Marine's pt.# for that filter is: KN 59-0284. Another that should work for you is the Barbron Flame Arrestor available from Teague. pt# BAR 1003005S. A good auto parts store should be able to order for you, however. Hope this helps. --- Jer

Carshopinc.com has the flame arrestors. Best price I found so far. I bought mine there. That part number you have listed, they have it for $84.95. Check it out:
