Hardin Marine - Cyclone Shorty Header

This is supposed to be a direct replacement for Gil exhaust manifolds.
Bolts up to Gil risers.
Anybody using or have any experience with this manifold?

I have them, fit great. On blower motors 700+ hp.

This is a subject that I am very interested in too. Hope that you get some more responses.

What exhaust did you end up with on the 42?

Wow! 4mph is a lot of speed to lose. That equates to about an 80-100hp loss!---that isn't any good for sure!

I have them and see no difference in speed. I talked to a friend at sterling and was told with a blower motor it will not change any on a 502 or mine a 510 bbc. If I had a 540 he said then they would not work.

I have installed them on a HP465 502 after a rebuild. I didnt see anywhere on the dyno where they could possibly be causing a loss of power. As for the Gils, i have seen them on FI 800+ hp applications.

Is there any new information on these? I had some corrosion on my gils and ended up with reversion. I'm considering the cyclone shorty's instead, but my new engine is a 650hp 540 and from the above posts, it sounds like a bad idea. Anyone have any experience or input they'd like to share?

I have sold many sets of these. Yes they are a direct bolt on header to replace the Gil's and work great! Most of the applications are lower Horsepower 500-625 HP N/A

Re: Hardin Marine - Cyclone Shorty Header

The Cyclone Shorty is a great product, but if you have higher horsepower needs take a look at both the Typhoon Series and Hurricane Series of stainless headers. We build systems for a variety of different applications, just give one of our techs a call to help determine what is best for your particular situation.

Any Idea how much the Typhoon headers would help a 620 HP 502?
