What would you do ! with a 38 Scarab!
SubscribeHeavy boat...needs alot of power to move. TRS wont last beyond 550 HP. and you really need 600hp plus on each side to get into the 70s.
Just my humble opinion

BBB,Too Old & I both have HP500s for sale. Both are ready to go.Take the worry out and start with two good roller motors.Whipple next season!Sounds good to me!BOB
If you want to do it once and right then you'll want to install forged pistons as well as some decent rods/rob bolts, a fluid-type balancer and some decent cams made for a blower application. You already are considering cylinder heads so you'll be fine with the selections you've listed. Last season my 509 supercharged engines were making 610 horsepower at the flywheel and my 38 Cigarette flat-deck(BW transmissions, SSM3A drives) was just shy of 70 in flat water.
yeah if your goignt o do atear down and rebiuld put in the forged crank, rods, and pistons, and some better flowing heads.
But remember if youa re making more power you might puke a drive. If you are looking for some more speed for relatively cheap but the blowers on teh 330 and run em. I aske dteh same question abtou 2 years ago and duston whipple told me a 330 with mild boost is a decent setup. Not an HP monster but due to eth low compression pistons they have they take well to a little boost. i think he said 4-5 is cool. 7 and your lookign for trouble without forged pistons.
