brave one propshaft

I Believe they interchange, but if you are making alot of power don't bother with the 1990 shaft. They are known to twist in the spline area. Especially if you hit something. I'm not too sure of the 2000 either.
Go to WWW.Mercruiserparts.com and look up the drives and compare part #'s. I bought a '90 drive online and realized the propshaft was twisted when it arrived. Merc makes an excellent kit with a billet carrier and a tough shaft and I believe gears , shims bearings etc.
The merc Part # is 840377a1
Lists for $1200 got mine on e-bay for $550 This is quality stuff. I never installed it yet though. BBB

shaft is the same. i wouldn't buy a new carrier they are the same also. you can change the race in yours if it looks bad. a race, bearing, and seal is only a few dollars.

Imco makes good propshaft/carrier kits.BRV-128 has a billet carrier and special alloy shaft w/ larger bearing 675.00. BRV-128x has a billet carrier and large alloy shaft w/ even larger bearing 1025.00. Expensive kits but we have used both and have had no problems yet. Awesome machine work Imco does.
