100 octane
Our local marina where most of us like to get our fuel, has decided to carry 89 and 100 octane for the summer. No more 92.
The discussion came up yesterday
What would 100 octane do to a Merc 575, would it decrease performance or inhance it?
Would the computers compensate for it?
Does the guy with the 575's need to go to another marina?
Just rainy day over a couple of beers questions
Thanks

I would ask someone at Mercury. I have heard that running higher octane gas in a HP 500 will decrease performance, but I don't know if this corelates to a 575 since it is running a blower.
I had twin 2.5 O/B's on a cat, and the Merc people were telling me that running 100 octane (which was available at the local station) would give me longer life on the motor, even though it was rated for less.
Give Merc a call.
