Default Adding lower external tie bar - Tips?

Just ordered a lower external tie bar from EMI. Is there anything besides alignment (I was going to set is at neutral - no toe in or out for now) that I have to be aware of in adding the external tie bar? Any install tips?

Also, there seems to be a silver metal 3" washer with rubber on one side between the trim rams and the drive case. Do those stay when the tie bar is installed or do the tie bar side mounting plates take the place of the washers.

The 3" washers are to keep the rubber bushings from binding on the drive as it moves up and down. Consider the tie-bar and mounting saddle as another "stationary" part of the drives, so you want tie bar attached solid to the drives, and don't want the rubber bushings binding on the saddles. Therefore, place the washers between the rubber bushings and the tie bar saddles.

There are alot of opinions on toe-in vs toe-out. I keep mine at neutral, and it performs well up to my top end of 80mph.
