I currently own a 30 velocity with twin outboards (1991 Johnson 225's). When i bought this boat it had 14 1/2 X 19 pitch three blade stainless Rakers with alot of cup. Is there a better prop for top end speed? To be honest I don't know much about props and which best fit these motors and this size boat. What are the advantages of 3 vs. 4 vs. 5 blade props. and the cupped ones vs. the straighter ones. Any advice on what style, number of blades, size and pitch would be greatly appreciated. I currently run 61mph flat out.
Thanks,

The rakers are actually a good prop.
The v-6 Raker prop comes in pitch increments of 18,20,22,24,26 28,and so on.
if the stamping on the props are cast in.?? they would be original omc props . If they do not say raker they are not. Then they would be the basic SST OMC STAINLESS 14 1/2 x19 pitch.
ESPECIALLY if they are black, they have a teflon coating on them, the rakers may have been re-worked to a 19 pitch
,but you mentioned they have alot of cupping in them ??so, I am assuming they were blowing out on take off???
The four blade OMC Renegade propeller,OMC makes is a great offshore series prop which performs great and has a excellent top end as well as handling in rough water and the holeshot is quick.
I would suggest finding a dealer that may have several different props such as the RAKERS,Renegades,or other brands, you could even run a Mirage prop with a new style hub kit for the OMC .so you have several options and feel free to call anytime.Just trying to help.good luck,
Darin
