Even with the MST Guardian, don't you still have to flush with a hose and "earmuffs" to clean out the outdrive as well as the seawater pump?

I don't know if you have to or not, but that is what I do. I run the boat on the muffs for 10 mins or more and then I use the MST Guardian while I'm washing the boat

It is a generic term ... you can check with your local fire supply or dept on a local source. It is an additive added to the water tank to retard evaporation and enhance penetration.

Have you done any experiments with Salt Away, soap, water wetter, straight water, and straight salt water? If not, if you could get me a sample of this "wetter", I'd be more than happy to do a study on different solutions of each to find a good cost vs. performance chemistry.

Just remember that whatever you use in your engines have to be friendly with all materials (rubber etc.)
I spoke to a firefighter and he told me that some of this "wetter' solutions are not friendly with rubber hoses.

You can get Water wetter at pep boys auto supply ..it is used in coolents for reducing eng temp .....works well for that .......

WOw.... never thought of pep boys ... wonder if it is the same stuff.

Also, if used for auto engines, Then it would have to be friendly to rubber hoses I would think.

It would be fun to do a test for comparison purposes.

The Water Wetter that Pep boats carries is like $10 for a 12 oz bottle. It's marketed by Red Line if I remember correctly, and it's meant to cool engine temps.... I think you're talking about two different things here.

An old school racer once told me that they would fill the hose with bleach before running the water through the engine. I wonder if using bleach in the Salt-away adapter would work.
