I have a 2750 Lavey that was GPS'd at 81 with a HP500 EFI, a reprogrammed ECU, and a mono-blade throttle body. I was running a 26" Bravo that had been tuned. RPM's were approx 5350. A Whipple is now being installed and we will do a test run next week with a 30" Bravo.

Ran the boat at Havasu yesterday for the first time with the Whipple. I tried a 30" Bravo stock and it is a little too big. I ran 83-85 mph at 4750. Next time out I will try a 28". Mid-range with the Whipple, even with the 30" is absolutely awesome. I popped from 55 to 80 in a heart beat and was just cruising at 41-4200.

Thanks for the info. I will be picking up my boat this weekend and will start the Whipple project as soon as it arrives. Glad to here your input on the prop. I was figuring on a 28p to start. Would a 3 blade Mirage be better then the bravo 4 blade??

From what I've gathered here and from a few more knowledgable folks I believe the 4 Blade will work better for you, but I have had no experience with the 3 blade so I can't help you. Sorry

Scott McKay, it kind of depends on the boat whether you need 3-4 blades. I think mine might do better with a 3 blade, but I don't know anyone that has one big enough to try. My boat ran better with the mirage + prior to the whipple. I have been thinking about trying one of the new 5 blade props that Throttle-up and Houston prop have been talking about.

The fastest prop I found is a bravo 4 blade. These props did not work for my boat/combination 92' 27 fountain.

I ran the 30 again after having it reworked. I was able to run at 5000 at 84gps. When I mentioned before that I ran 83-84 it was speedo only. When I gps'd it at 84 the speedo indicated 90, so I threw the gps away- just kidding. I'm happy with the 5000 although I guess I could try for 5200 with a little more prop work but, what's the point? Conditions were not conducive to fast runs as the water was glassy smooth but what a great ride.

My boat is a 96 27 Fountain w/ 502 mag, M3 procharger at 6lbs runs 84-85 gps with a stock Bravo 30p rh and 85-86 with a Bravo 32p rh labbed by Throttle-Up. I am going to try one of the new Hydro P-5x props as soon as the 30p is available, always looking for a few more mph:D

Tomcat, have you got anything planned for 502 mag/efi Procharger setup?

I have designs for the 502 Mag MPI and the HP500EFI, but both of these are for bigger twin engine boats that have some room above the stock intake plenum. For boats with no headroom I have a design that requires replacing the stock upper plenum with mine and using a different throttle body.

For single engine boats like yours there is an easier option if you have room beside the engine on the starboard side. I would appreciate it if you could post some pictures.
