At least its you buddy's neck instead of your own. I blew the same fuse last month - operator error:rolleyes:

You need to find out why the fuse blew. It will surely do it again unless you find the fault and fix it.

I also had this happen. It is my understanding, per MarineMax, that these fuses just blow every 5 years or so. You have the option to replace or just bypass the fuse all together. I replaced it just to be safe. And yes, you need to be an acrobat to change it!

Also, does anyone ever have any issues with this engine and the Bravo One with the pickup on the front of the bulb? I have had problems with sucking mud into the cooling system in shallow areas and clogging.

Other than, don't turn your engine on in less than 3 ft of water, I haven't really gotten any good feedback for a fix.

Thanks

People epoxy off the low water pickups and drill holes into the water passage at the traditional location. Do a search on that topic and you should get good info.

Blue Thunder,

Thanks for the feedback. This is the first decent idea I have heard.

The next best idea was to put a pickup in the hull or at the bottom of the transom with a switch inside.

I will check this out. Where are you on the Bay?

Thanks,

Northern bay area netgain. I boat out of a marina that gets ass low at low tide and I have never had a problem with what is sucked into the standard bravo pickups. A freind of mine in the same marina had big problems with sucking up stuck, epoxied off the low water pickup as I said, and no more trouble.
