Mercury 575 problem resolved!
A few months ago I was looking for help regarding one of my 575's cutting out when it was warmed up. The problem was a bad circuit breaker located at the back of the motor. One of the leads was burned slightly and was loosing the connection when it heated up. It took a mechanic about 6 hours of tracing the electrical system, but he found the problem and fixed it! The 500EFI and the 575CSI motors use the same circuit breaker. Maybe this post will save someone else some time and frustration. I have had this problem for about 4 months and most people thought it was a fuel problem. Also, make sur you have 1000 cca starting batteries for the 500 and 575!

Thanks for the heads up! Glad they found it.
I had a 95 502MPI in a 27 once and it wouldn't start from time to time...Ground wire for computer was pinched.
Took a whole summer for them to find it cause it would not do it at the dealer.
