i need a pulley for my 79 454 -- it the crankshaft pulley and its a 2 piece setup (one is a 2 v-groove pulley -- with an insert for a 1 groove pulley)


anyone have any ideas??

Is the outer pulley smaler. It is 3 groove right?
Merc p/n 70081-c ($78 BAM) is an aluminum replacement.
I do this all the time. The center groove on it is smaller though making necessary belt and possibly a seawater pump pulley change (if you have one). How about a billet one for apx $60 one ebay. All 3 grooves are the same, BBC short water pump . Look it up under automotive parts. I should have the steel pulley(s)
but , must clean them to see if they are rotted or not.

yeah the outer pulley is smaller -- its the one that goes to the power steering -- its on its own pulley that is inserted into the main crankshaft pulley

this is what my pulley looks like -- is it normal to have the outer pulley smaller (it drives the power steering pump).
