Post MK IV head set-up of supercharger

Getting ready to set-up a MK VI head for supercharger use and would like a little info from the experts. Using Ferrea Super Alloy Valves and would like to know recommendations on seat widths and valve stem to guide clearances. Would you recommend teflon valve seals also. Thanks for any info provided, I value greatly the experience and professional advice that I get of this board.

Thanks in advance,

Valley Boy

Make sure to polish combustion chambers to remove any places for detonation to hide. Install pc seals. Polish the exhaust side of the heads.

Come on guy's, I know you can do better than this. Help me out with a little info on these questions.
I know everybody is trying to get used to this new board including me, but I do like what I see so far.

Thanks,
Valley Boy

For use with a super charger, most attention to detail should be on the exhaust side so scavaging has better opportunity to make you engine perform better. You're forcing more air and fuel in so the easier it is for the combusted gas to exit the more efficient you'll be. That's why less detail is needed on the intake side.

First we'll start with valve seat widths. Intake should be .060 and exhaust should be .080. Remember, the only thing cooling the exhaust valve is contact with the seat. That's why it has to be that wide.

My opinion, as far as the rest would be, as mentioned, smooth the combustion chamber, bowl blending, a 3 angle valve job, unshrouding of the exhaust valve, and port and polish the exhaust chamber.

I usually go with .100 on the exhaust seat but I dont run inconnel valves either so I need the extra cooling. I was always under the impression not to use teflon seals because they keep the valve stem and guides too dry. But I have used them without problems too so what do I know. Did you ever find a distributor?

Thanks for the information guy's. Combustion chambers have been deburred and bowls smoothed out. Will do valve seats as recommended.
Didn't get any feedback on the valve stem to guide clearance so I'll go a little loose on the stock specs for the head. Probably will use umbrella style seals (I've heard pros and cons on the PC seals).
Yes Tom I did find a Thunderbolt IV distributor and thanks for looking.

Thanks, Valley Boy
