K-plane parts
Does anyone know where to get those little clips that hold the metal rods in the K-planes? I don't know the technical name for them - but they're stainless steel and go around the end of the rods to hold them in place..

Steve they are C-Clips and some hardware stores carry them. I got rid of my set up like that and had longer rods made with threaded ends. I like that set up better.

Doller in Ft. Lauderdale has them in stock for about four-bux a piece. I know I just bought a hand full for my old 280 tabs. I had the Merc part number around here somewhere and if I find it this afternoon, I will post it here. Of course, with the part number you can order them through any Merc dealer.
The Quicksilver part number is 53-844229

Try McMaster Carr, they are a big industrial supplier. Make sure you get them in stainless. www.mcmaster.com, a package of 10 is less than $10.
Even though we are a Merc dealer, I hate to see you spend that much for a generic item.

I ordered new c-clips from McMaster-Carr last year and their's are light duty clips. They are stainless and the inside diameter is correct, but the thickness of the clip is about half that of the Merc clip. I wouldn't trust them to stay on. If McMaster-Carr can't confirm they have the size you need, order the Merc part if they are still available.
