i was expecting around 1000rpm idle but it cant work under 1500 properly, do you think this cam is hi for 1000rpm idle?

Thats a BIG cam for 520 CI. What's the base ignition timing set at???? More timing will help it idle better.

Went though the same thing with my 540's last year:( Changed cams over the winter. I didn't have enough vacuum at idle to pull fuel once I put it in gear and the rpms dropped some more:mad: .

Do you have the idle set so high that the butterflies are open past the slot? I'm wondering if some carb work by one of the gurus wouldn't help.

sorry bros, i worked a bit too much last week to finish this project .

problem was valve settings, fixed and everything is ok now, idles around 900rpm
