i was expecting around 1000rpm idle but it cant work under 1500 properly, do you think this cam is hi for 1000rpm idle?

Thats a BIG cam for 520 CI. What's the base ignition timing set at???? More timing will help it idle better.

Went though the same thing with my 540's last year Changed cams over the winter. I didn't have enough vacuum at idle to pull fuel once I put it in gear and the rpms dropped some more .
NOTE: THESE WERE RECOMMEMDED BY COMP CAMS

Do you have the idle set so high that the butterflies are open past the slot? I'm wondering if some carb work by one of the gurus wouldn't help.

sorry bros, i worked a bit too much last week to finish this project .

problem was valve settings, fixed and everything is ok now, idles around 900rpm

thnx for ideas and help
