Red face Prop Slip on number six drives

What would be considered acceptable prop slip for a 9500 lbs venilated V hull running number six drives. I have heard everything from 5% to 10%. Trying to figure out why my slip numbers are so high, around 18%. Wanted to get some seat time, to get familiar with the boat. Not sure if the props are the problem or my lack of seat time in this boat. What are you other V's running for slip? The boat is running the props it was dialed in with, so I was told, 17x34.

that seems high for a new well setup boat. Perhaps you don't have her trimmed right and aren't geeting the kind of speed she is capable of and it throwing off the slip calculation.

but then again a #6 is a surfacing drives so perhaps more slip is to be expected????

THose numbers are not that far off for a venilated or stepped vee hull.

that seems high compared to other boats with number six drives? The fountain just tested in Powerboat was running 6 or 7% according to Bam's calculator. The OL that was tested in powerboat was running 9%, that was also with 5 blades. We need to figure this out. Anyone else?
