Lightbulb excite wire voltage

undefinedundefinedundefined i need to know what the correct voltage should be to the excite wire on my 78 tahiti...it has 10.50 to the excite now and batt voltage is 12.5..i have a new alt and reg and am not getting voltage out of the alt..also, is there a specific rpm it need to be to excite???thanks for any advise

There should be a full 12 V on that wire. It's switched on by the key, so check your ingition switch for corrosion. Not sure if slightly lower voltage would affect it though.
Depending on the alternator, you my have to get it above 1000-1200rpm before it will start to charge, but then should continue even at lower rpm.
