I am about to purchase a procharger for my 7.4MPI and I was wondering if the M1SC is worth the money. Their are plenty of M1's on the used market and I know about the oil return hole in the pan. I have driven a couple non SC's and found them not to be as noisy as some people say. I will probably build 3-1/2#s @ sea level and go up to 5#s @ lake Tahoe 6200MSL. Should I spend the money for the SC? Or find a good used M1?

I have no personal exp. with the SC, but my friend has a Kenny Bell SC supercharger on his pick-up truck. I think it developed a small leak that dropped the oil level slightly and damaged the supercharger. I have an M-1 Procharger and have no problems.

We had the M1SC's on our 500efi motors and they worked great...We used the Procharger oil they sent us and changed it at 50 hrs...I think you could go 100 hrs though.

I agree with Hustlethis. ProCharger has its own oil that you need to use. Change it every 50-100hrs or every season.
The SC is better due to possible contaminates/hi temp in engine oil. Eventhough you should be using synthetic oil if you have an oil fed PC.
