Default Oil T-stat Install

If I install an oil t-stat does my oil bypass the filter and cooler till it warms up or does it re-route it just around the cooler? Any diagrams? Thanks.

Default Re: Oil T-stat Install

The T-stat should be installed so it only bypasses the cooler, not the filter.
