We use have three different dye's at the GM dealer I work for.
Engine oil, Cooling system , and transmission. All work very well with the proper light and there are several. Some do seem to light the dye better than others but they all show up bright yellow.

thanks for all of the replys fellas.

I ended up borrowing an actual mechanics ultraviolet light. (way too expensive to buy one just to use it once or twice). Anyway leak showed up plain as day with the proper light.

yup, we got one at our shop, Its a really bright concentrated beam fluorescent blacklight with "Big money"
so where was your leak?

Valve cover was leaking bad, glad it was something simple.
