Default Drive oil reservoir puking!

If I go 4000rpm or more my starbird drive oil reservoir pukes oil out. I think their must be an antireverse valve or something going wrong as the drive oil heats up and expands. Any one got a clue? Its a pain in the ass to keep adding oil after it spews and then have to clean the bilge up also.

check the vent on the cap.sometimes a lid change will cure that, swap from the other res. see if problem switches if so theres your problem, also dont over fill it as that will cause the same problem. i looked at that boat you bought but the owner wasnt in a trading mood.

I'll try it. Johnny where do you boat and what do you have. I remember talking to you in the past on this board. I am about to buy a house in Rabbit Run and move to Choctaw. We'll be Neighbors!

Sometimes happens when water is getting into the drive, if a lot of water it pushes oil out the top but even if only a little water it boils to steam displaceing the oil. After boat has sat for a few days let a little oil out the drain plug, water being heavier than oil settles to the bottom of the drive and you can usually see if the 1st few drops or ounces are water.
